Laura Drew

I joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor in December 2023 and am part of the Resources and Finance Committee. As a family, we have recently started our journey through the Gosforth school system with both my son and daughter attending SGFS!

I have been a Social Worker for 10 years and have extensive experience in supporting families, safeguarding, care planning for vulnerable children and multi-agency working. In my current role as an Assistant Team Manager of a Local Authority Fostering Service, I am also involved in strategic planning, improving performance and allocating resources.

I am passionate about supporting families and achieving positive outcomes for children. Through my role as a governor I would like to use my skills and knowledge to contribute towards making SGFS a place where every child feels safe, has a sense of belonging and is supported to thrive.
